From his "office" in Hannigan's bar, Jackson Trade is facing a lonely month of recuperation from a nasty fall. So, when an acquaintance asks him to help a millionaire locate a missing jockey, he accepts, against his better judgement. After all, five hundred a day, plus expenses, goes a long way in 1980, even on Nashville's elegant west end.

Jackson gets more than he bargains for, though, when he draws the attention of the millionaire's angry wife and finds himself on the wrong side of a spoiled, society boy who hates everything but horses.
