Blindfolded in a pajama type attire with a noose hung around his neck, his wedding ring has been removed. Having been 'properly prepared' his conductor leads him to the inner lodge door where with a knock the Worshipful Master calls out, "Who goes there?" Didn't Jesus say in Matthew 6:24 "No one can serve two masters, either you will hate the one and love the other; or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other? You can't serve God and Mammon."
