Paper Crane Memories is a short story collection set in Izumo, a fantasy world inspired by the folklore, history, and mythology of Japan. These seventeen stories offer a glimpse into the stories of various women in different places, situation, and lives in the history of Izumo. Some stories are just glimpses into their lives at different moments. Others are occassions of great importance to themselves and those around them. All are united by a common thread of their love of other women and their struggles as they move through a land that is on the brink of change.
