'The Green Dragon' is the first in a series of environmental stories for children. Highlighting the problem of plastic pollution in the ocean, the story is of a friendly, green dragon who just wants to play and have fun with his friends in the sunshine and on the beaches of Hong Kong. On one particular morning things don't go quite to plan. He finds several friends affected by marine pollution and then later, finds himself in a very scary situation. Saved by a kind boy who listens to the dragon's story, the boy decides to take action and spread the message to his family, school and friends to make changes in human habits to help save the sea creatures.

With beautiful illustrations of scenes and animals from Hong Kong, this book is used in primary schools to help with environmental units of enquiry.

Meet Pearle the Pink Dolphin, Myrtle the Turtle, Eddie the Egret and of course Willy, The Green Dragon on his first adventure.

You will find an educational page at the back of the book, referencing the Draco Viridi Ltd website for further information on the topic.

Although set in Hong Kong, the story is valid anywhere in the world, unfortunately. If you have a love of Hong Kong or travel you will surely enjoy the references to this beautiful land.
