I Am Karate: The legend of Itosu Ankō

A novel that reflects anecdotes and teachings that occurred throughout the existence of this legendary master of karate-do Shorin Ryu style. His life takes place towards the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. In addition to the Okinawan Shorin Ryu style, others important styles of Japanese karate (Shotokan, Wado-Ryu, Shito-Ryu) performs similar forms of katas that he developed. This is because Itosu Anko has an important presence within their lineages. He continued the legacy that was given to him by another legendary master like Matsumura Sokon, and he managed to incorporate karate thanks to his effort, in the teachings of Okinawa schools, which also gave him a strong impulse for dissemination.
