This literary book includes 3 stories about a caf, a gourmet Japanese restaurant, and a love bookstore in the small town, respectively. Author of the book, Hsiao Yeh (1951), is a Taiwanese writer, screenwriter and social critic. He and Edward Yang won the Best Screenplay of the Asia-Pacific Film Festival in 1987 for the motion picture The Terrorizers.
