Born and Bred in Myanmar: A Book of Five Short Stories

Born and Bred in Myanmar is about life and struggles of rural dwelling young people, except Yin Yin Mar who at an early age, had to work to supplement their household income or work alongside their parents to support their family. They often find it difficult to even complete the proper basic education thus it is hard for them to come out from the poverty cycle that their parents are entrapped in. The book portrays the lack of support system from the government or support from the family for young people who want to pursue education. Khin Soe, Moe Kyaw, Ma Tar, Ma Nyo Pyar and Yi Yi Mar were born and bred in different parts of Myanmar in the 1980s but young people today still continue to live their stories in Myanmar.
