Universal Basic Income was proposed by Thomas Paine in the Agrarian Justice (1817).

Andrew Yang revitalized this idea in his campaign as a presidential candidate in 2019.

In our world today, great advances in technologies have generated abundance of wealth, enough to make the majority of us wealthy and to eliminate poverty on earth. But instead selfish governments have allowed wealth loss through cronyism, enriching only the top 1% of the population, and the gap between the Have and the Have-nots has widened !! The uncivilized state of society that Paine described has persisted to this day. The solution has to be the simple UBI that he proposed, fair to everyone and easily administered by any government who honestly cares for its citizens. Just put the cash into the hands of the people and their own self-help effort is certain to make a happier world for themselves.

UBI Index of happiness is proposed, UBI cash paid as % of the national poverty level.
