This book is a memoir written by my Dad when he turned 70. It depicts the culture and heritage that he grew up with in Penang, Malaysia. A lot of these are no longer there today. It includes stories about the places, things and foods that used to be around and fast becoming a vanishing trade. It discusses about the hardship of their lives in the olden days as well as the beauty of it. Children today no longer have such opportunities to experience such life and we want to let them know that we must not take life for granted as our lives has improved from those times. This is our first attempt of sharing memoirs from different generations within our family. Grandpa's version is a good start. After all, 70 years old is a good age for reflection.. All the proceeds from the sale of this book will go into Ah Chiew's retirement fund and to further support the production of more books like this that shares true life experiences and to continue our heritage
