Almost all paediatrics textbooks describe disease processes. This book is unusual in that it deals with problems (symptoms) as they are presented to the doctor. The problems are approached in a manner that is common practice in clinical paediatrics, namely obtaining a history followed by physical examination, and planning investigations in order to elucidate the diagnosis. General principles of management are discussed without going into a detailed description of diseases and their management. The book should be of use to medical officers in paediatrics and general practice.
