Overcoming the Spirit of Poverty

One of the first things to note about poverty is that, it is a spirit. Poverty is a spirit from the pit of hell on a mission to destroy destinies. It is on a mission to cage destinies and to cause great destinies to take a nosedive. It is on a mission to hinder God’s divine agenda on earth in the lives of His people. The spirit of poverty cuts across all sphere and segment of life.

The spirit of poverty is not a respecter of any nation or individual. It is no respecter of governments, bishops, apostles, prophets, pastors, or any leader. It is not a respecter of professions. This is why you find every profession on earth has its history of poverty.

In the medical profession, for instance, there are medical doctors who are poor. They are unable to meet their needs irrespective of their profession that is highly sought after. Many doctors are seeking all possible means to leave their country to another country because of the level of poverty being experienced in their country. We can also take the education sector as another instance.

How many academic professors are rich in your nation? There are only few of them. The Academic Staff Union of Universities has been on strike in Nigeria for a very long time, because of money owed them by the government. These people are learned and well read, yet poverty has repackaged many of them. They have become a reproach to many, as professors.
