A Vision for Teaching: Education for Spiritual Growth

This book is about a vision for quality education - preparing adults to teach on Bible College, seminary and graduate levels. The discipline of education has many ways of approaching the task of teaching and equipping students for a victorious life and ministry. Students in Bible Colleges and seminaries are on the way to full time ministry and need to be equipped for the task. The equipping includes outstanding teaching of information and knowledge as foundation for other learning tasks. The equipping includes a godly example of the spiritual life in prayer and love towards God. It includes the development of skills through good teaching, prayer, experiential learning, and the development of competencies for ministry. The best teachers are those who have a vision for the subject matter at hand, the students, and God. These three aspects of teaching will bring great satisfaction and fulfilment to the teacher and produce a crop of graduates who will go out and change the world. My desire is that one day your students will say the same thing about you that the people who listened to Jesus said, When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, because he taught as one who had authority, and not as their teachers of the law.
