(A) Endurance - This is the central theme of the story that portrayed the main character, Chimuanya, who took the endurance key and clung to it with the belief of it bringing a turnaround for good when he was faced with torture, dejection and suffering on his road to become a better person. (B) Deception - This theme was portrayed by Okongwu, who failed to live up to the love and happiness he promised his family, and lust after another woman who later that manipulated him. © Hope - This was portrayed by Chimuanya and Ichie Udekwe. They were hopeful and optimistic that the hapless state of Okongwu’s family will change for better in future. (D) Faith - This theme was portrayed by Chumuanya and the siblings, as well as Ichie Udekwe. Chimuanya especially was faithful that the condition of his sick mother will change with God’s intervention through prayers and deliverance.
