Twisted Love

Jason Matthews was found dead at his home. He had been stabbed to death. He was the ordained deacon, and had worked in the district, taking care of the poor, the sick, and the elderly. Foul play was suspected and Simon was arrested. There was sorrow, remorse, and despondency felt among the community he had served. There was even a mini riot at the police station where the suspect, Simon was been held. This tragedy would change the lives of many people. In particular, three families directly connected to Jason Matthews. When Sandra Daley heard the news on her radio, she exclaimed, He should burn in hell for killing one of God’s chosen ones! She was to find out later her connection to the tragedy because of decisions she took more than forty years previously. Martha Payne her lifetime best friend and confidant was accustomed to tragedy, but even she would not have prepared herself for what this death would reveal. Peter Preston was not too surprised when the truth came out that the Deacon was a violent man, because he had seen evidence of his brutality. However, he had not anticipated the depth of his depravity. The Deacon had skilfully manipulated children into participating in vile and repulsive practices. Then to ensure their continued compliance, he had been using bribes, threats and force. This story spans sixty years. It is set in a Caribbean village, amongst island people, coping with life on a daily basis. In particular, it explores how they interact with each other and those to come to live amongst them.
