The book tells the biblical story of the brave women who saved Baby Moses.

Many years ago in Egypt, women from diverse parts of society came together across boundaries of religion, nationality, social status and education, to resist the Pharoah’s order to murder infants.

The story of the effort to save baby Moses is narrated from a feminist perspective that emphasises the bravery of those women who defied a despot to save a baby.

Their refusal to obey his edicts and their secret efforts over a period of years enabled Moses to flourish and become the leader who would lead his people from slavery to freedom.

This picture book tells the story of the Hebrew midwives, Shifra and Puah, who rebelled against Pharoah, and the cooperation between the Hebrew women, Yocheved and Miriam, who joined together with an Egyptian princess, daughter of Pharaoh, to save the infant Moses from the decree condemning him to death.

The illustration by the artist Judi Gor Zimmerman.

The book aimed to children from 5 years old and adults.
