A little boy, who was destined to die in seven days, gained a lifespan of hundred and twenty years because of the compassion of the Buddha. For that reason he was called ‘Auywaddana Kumaraya’ meaning ‘the boy who expanded his lifespan.’ That means, dear children, that there are factors that make one’s lifespan longer. Not only that, many troubles in life also cease when we are in the habit of honouring and respecting the noble ones. Moreover, we gain benefits such as long life, complexion, comforts and power. Therefore, make the Noble Triple Gem your refuge and do meritorious deeds to fill your life with merits.
