Thrilling eco-adventure book series illuminates climate change awareness through realistic sci-fi stories. Tween students in a school of eco-intelligence train to combat nature’s enemy warriors.

In Spiral Hall, an invitation-only school for the world’s eco-demically gifted children, eleven-year-old Peter Blue is something of a legend, or so he’s told. His father, a top GAIA agent, has been missing for years. As Peter gains skills and knowledge to combat the Anthrog weather warrior threats to Earth, he must prove to himself that the legend is true in order to save his father and the world, before it’s too late.

The Global Advanced Intelligence Agency, or GAIA, is an organization that uses all forms of available acumen, including nature’s own intelligence, to solve big world problems. When Peter Blue was born, there was a big fuss at GAIA as he was considered to be a legendary boy who would one day live up to being the hero he is predicted to be. Young Peter isn’t sure what this means and his parents won’t be able to enlighten him: his mom, a renowned scientist, was the intended target of a fatal fire and his special agent dad, long considered to have died along with her, was recently identified as being alive but held captive by the evil Anthrog Overlords - the growing threat to Earth, demons born out of garbage dumps, who now show up as wildfire disasters and killer storms.

As Peter and his fellow students submit to challenges and learn skills to address extreme weather, rising sea levels, melting ice caps, and desertification, they also are fostering connections to nature - being able to communicate with trees, using optics and technology to shape-shift into other animals and plants. But all along, Peter is desperately trying to find ways to locate his father - using a high-tech GAIA jacket he left behind - and understand the meaning of his own existence and why people believe he is a legend.

This story of adventure and science has Peter and his friends on a fast-paced journey, meeting dangerous environmental warriors with earth’s destruction as their end goal, Earth’s caretaking elementals, and nature spirits who hold up the Earth, live underground and help plants grow, and clean up the trash and pollution that humans leave behind, corroding the planet. It is an adventure where the earth, its weather enemies, its natural providers, and its stewards are all living beings.

Eye of the Stormlord, the first book in the Peter Blue series by Laurel Colless, is a science-based adventure story where the evils of overconsumption and environmental degradation are living enemies that must be defeated.
