Proosarunot ovat muotoutuneet siten, etta runoilija on asettunut kuuntelemaan juttujen kertojaa, kavunnut runoilijan kammioonsa ja kaantanyt tarinat runoiksi. Runot on paaosin koottu Tornionjokilaaksosta, molemmista maista, niin Suomesta kuin Ruotsistakin. Muutamassa runossa on myoes meankielta. Runoja varittavat lammin myoetatunto ja ilkikurinen nauru.
