Cuba ha sido el destino por excelencia del revolucionarismo internacional: durante casi sesenta anos, el peregrinaje politico se ha encargado de hacer de la Revolucion la construccion imaginada de su Revolucion. Este libro analiza tres imagenes cardinales de tal proceso -el martir, el lider y la pachanga socialista- a traves del cine de peregrinaje politico, y muestra como los eventos sacrificiales dispuestos en torno a estas imagenes son los que han proporcionado a tal imaginario el pharmakon necesario para asegurar su caracter diurno, ascensional y heroico.

Henry Eric Hernandez (Camaguey, 1971) se doctoro en la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Su trabajo se ocupa de los estudios culturales en torno a los medios, los estudios antropologicos del imaginario, la representacion de la violencia politica y la retorica poscomunista. Investigador social y artista transdisciplinar, ha recibido becas de The John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation, The Pollock-Krasner Foundation, The Christoph Merian Foundation y The Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park. Ha publicado La revancha (2006) y Otra isla para Miguel (2008).
