Maria Elena Blanco (La Habana, 1947) ha publicado los ensayos de Asedios al texto literario (1999) y Devoraciones. Ensayos de periodo especial (2016), y varios volumenes de poesia, entre ellos Posesion por perdida (1990), Alquimica memoria (2001), Mitologuias (2001), danubiomediterraneo / mittelmeerdonau (2005), El amor incontable (2008), Havanity / Habanidad(2010) y Sobresalto al vacio (2015). Ha sido profesora e investigadora universitaria y desde 1983 es traductora de las Naciones Unidas.
