This volume highlights the role of Hindustani soldiers, collectively and individually in WW II. It was the inexhaustible presence of Hindustani troops that proved decisive in key engagements of WW II which shaped history.
The returning soldiers gave firsthand accounts of unheard countries, their people, about vast expanse of sea, dessert and battles raging simultaneously over large area with tanks, artillery and never ending order to defend or to attack.

It was an unusual sight for Hindustanis to see White man fight White man. In Hindustan it was taboo to raise hand against a White man but here the White man (British) ordered Hindustanis to destroy White men (German and Italians), who had no enmity with Hindustan. The narrations recall the separation, sorrow and destruction of WW II.
