Tarzan the Untamed is a book by American writer Edgar Rice Burroughs, the seventh in his series of twenty-four books about the title character Tarzan. Tarzan sped across the forest with the speed of the big apes, towards his house and family. But it was too late. The marauders had been there before him. His property was in ruins, and no one was left alive. His loving wife was merely a burnt, blackened body, stilli wearing the jewellery he had given her. He buried the body quietly, swearing horrible revenge on those who had committed this heinous crime. Then he set off grimly to find them, over warring armies, through a vast desert no one had ever travelled, and to a mysterious valley where only madmen dwelt.
