Fields of the Sky

A psychiatrist treats his patients while referencing Led Zeppelin, a lone woman creates a soulmate through thought before destroying her through sex, and a boy's terror of the unknown leads him to welcome a monster into his home. The opening three stories set the tone for this collection of twenty. Outlandish, engaging and inspiring, another word to describe their content would be eclectic. The settings vary from Africa to Europe; the music from the tenth century Japanese court to the Sex Pistols; the moods from blissful to miserable; the humour from comical to tearful; and the passions from spiritual to the lustfully corporeal. The one thread that runs through them all is that they illuminate some aspect of what it means to be human.
