The man with the hat

Since the fire in her dorm room, Amber has been haunted by a presence no one else sees: the man with the hat, with his single eye and disfigured steak-like cheek. Her therapist, Jack, insists he's just a manifestation of trauma-but Amber remembers nothing from before she was adopted by Danny and Kyra.

During a therapy session, she remembers a lilac carpet with a lily pattern. It leads her back to the place where it all began-Hotel Lethalis. As her grip on reality slips, she's driven to uncover the truth. Who were her real parents? What happened to them? What's behind the strange dark stain in room 399? And what sinister role does the man in the hat play in all of this?
