Inside your skin: 25 poems

Jan Folkert (1955) is a Dutch poet and this bundle contains poems written in the period 1990 to 2014. His poems are classic, accessible and often have a melancholic undertone. In his work, the poet often makes attempts to be who he is not or cannot be: Inside your skin. This sometimes confuses readers but more often the words reach hearts and souls. In 2011 he was - being involved by family ties - appointed as national poet for mental health care in the Netherlands. Some poems are from that period and recognizable as such. All poems have been previously published in Dutch language and have been translated by the poet himself. This bundle is dedicated to all the beautiful people, mothers, women, men, patients and medical staff who have inspired him to write.
