Squatters

On the occasion of Rotterdam 2001 and Porto 2001, Witte de With and Museu Serralves invited international artists to design projects for the two Cultural Capitals. These projects explore the city and urban spaces and the ways in which the spaces function in the specific local conditions of Rotterdam and Porto. Each work constitutes a mini-exhibition that claims a specific urban location and imbues it with new meaning and the singular nature of the project gives Squatters a cell-like structure. This lively catalogue documents the exhibition showing at Witte de With in two parts in the latter half of 2001.
