The Fiery Arrow series aims at the publication of books that connect their readers with the legacy of great teachers of spirituality from the distant and more recent past. This book adds to the historical dimension to many things that were happening in Europe towards the end of the first half of the twentieth century in conjunction with the Second World War. The twentieth century is now irretrievable in its tragedies, among which are two World Wars, the ‘me’ generation, the sexual revolution, the canonization of wealth, the irresponsible consumption and destruction of the world’s natural resources, the affluence of the First World and the starvation, sickness and strangulation of the Third World.
