The Crosby-Schoyen Codex Ms 193 in the Schoyen Collection

This volume, the product of a team of scholars, is the editio princeps of the third-fourth century Coptic Crosby-Schroyen codex. It is the same codex that earlier bore the labels of Mississippi Coptic Codex I, the Crosby Codex, and the Savery Codex. It contains copies of Melito of Sardi’s On the Passover (the opening pages are missing), 2 Maccabees 5:27-7:41 (the Jewish Martyrs), I Peter (complete), and a brief unidentified homily (only two pages survive). The edition includes for each individual tractate an introduction, Coptic text, English translation, and critical apparatus, as well as general introductions and indices for the volume as a whole.
