This text deals with the agronomy of ancient Mesopotamia. It is based on the original, but little known, agronomic encyclopaedia: the Book of Nabatean Agriculture by Qutama. The text is divided into three parts and analyzes the origin of the Mesopotamian school of agriculture and its economic and agro-technical conceptions. It also describes the knowledge which was basic to the establishment of the agronomic culture of Islam.
