Based on rare sources and documents, this book explains the means by which this epidemic spread and the social dynamics that accompanied it. The book also shows the remedies used in those years and the professionals involved in the care of the sick. A specific section is dedicated to important testimonies on the plague, with particular attention to the chronicles of that age, the diaries, and the letters.
