This book takes you through the first two years of the legendary Led Zeppelin’s career from their first concert to becoming the biggest rock band in the world with interviews, memories and rare and unseen photographs.

Fifty years ago on 7th September 1968 the newly formed Led Zeppelin played their first concert ever, under the name The New Yardbirds. It took place at a Danish school in the Copenhagen suburb of Gladsaxe. And the 1,200 teenagers present at the venue had never heard anything like this.

From these humble beginnings the band rocketed into becoming the world’s biggest rock phenomenon throughout the 1970’s and beyond.

The 17 year old photographer Jorgen Angel was present at this first concert and his pictures from the bands Copenhagen shows in 1969 and 1970 tell the story of, not only the band, but also the unfolding of the Danish rock scene. His photographs have gone on to be recognised as some of the most evocative images of the young Led Zeppelin and JImmy Paige himself is a massive fan of the pictures and their representation of those early days.
