En su rescate, que costo treinta mil doblas, intervinieron su esposa, dona Leonor de Guzman, el maestre de Calatrava y los reyes, no solo de Castilla, sino tambien de Francia, pues, entre otros muchos cargos, fue embajador en este pais.
