Martin Morua Delgado (1857-1910) Cuba. Hijo de padre espanol y madre negra, ex esclava, tuvo una formacion autodidacta y multiples ocupaciones, desde dependiente de una tabaqueria hasta traductor literario. Fundo varias publicaciones periodicas y colaboro en otras, en Cuba y Estados Unidos, donde vivio tras ser acusado de colaborar con los independentistas, en 1881. Conspiro con los revolucionarios del exilio cubano, durante un breve tiempo fue autonomista, y volvio a Cuba en una expedicion en 1898. En la Republica llego a ser senador. Sus novelas Sofia y La familia Unzuazu, se encuentran entre lo mas representativo de su produccion literaria.
