Novela morisca de la Espana del siglo XVI. En este relato un noble musulman cae prisionero de un noble cristiano. El musulman le confiesa que pensaba encontrar con su amada Jarifa y que ya no podra acudir a la cita. El cristiano le ofrece tres dias de libertad para que pueda verse con ella, al termino de los cuales debera volver a su cautiverio. El moro acepta agradecido y cumple su promesa. La familia arabe de los Abencerrajes fue muy influyente en Granada durante el siglo XV. Su rivalidad con la de los Cegries, en constantes guerras civiles, fue decisiva en la caida del reino de Granada. Esta historia fue luego incorporada a la Diana de Montemayor en 1561.
