This book is a tribute to all those women who after the war, according to tradition, read the Spanish playing cards in order to know what had happened to their missing relatives and friends. That was the way my grandmother Luisa used the Spanish deck for a long time in order to help others find their beloved people and alleviate the suffering of the wait and uncertainty. This book is a tribute to this old knowledge,and I have triedto collect it and make it known… and so it will revive from its ashes and be helpful for future generations.
