Algunos, inconfesables.

Don't try to fool her; you'll never get past her intuition.
Nothing is more terrifying than a community of neighbors.
Nearing eighty, Felicidad is an independent and decisive woman who guides the reins of her family and owns and manages a block of rental apartments. Her routine is interrupted when Civil Guard lieutenant Candela Rodriguez informs her that one of her tenants, an elderly woman, has fallen to her death in the building's courtyard.
An investigation to rule out foul play uncovers a gruesome video that could connect this death to other attacks on elderly women in the area. Scrutiny soon turns to Feli, her family and neighbors in a community that many enter, but not all leave.
Following on the success of his previous novels, Pablo Rivero presents a stark and unsettling thriller that lays bare the vulnerabilities of old age, touching on important issues such as social isolation, the digital divide, and the risks to which the elderly are exposed on social media. At the same time, The Matriarch is a tribute to all the strong women who are the pillars of their families. Full of twists, turns and surprises, it's a story that probes the dark corners where even the best families keep their secrets, some of them unmentionable.
