Episodios Nacionales V. La Primera Republica

La Primera Republica is the fourth novel of the fifth and final series of Episodios Nacionales by Benito Perez Galdos. The novel begins with the abdication of King Amadeo I and the proclomation of the First Spanish Republic. The new government faces immediate challenges and fails miserably, bringing about yet another era of political confusion. The author’s bias plays out through his narrator, Tito, who describes the situation as a first hand witness.
