Montes de Oca is the eigth novel of the third series of Episodios Nacionales by Benito Perez Galdos. Manuel Montes de Oca led a military uprising in 1841, just months after the end of the first Carlist war. Once more the author provides keen insights on the unrest and trials of the era. This novel contains an interesting female perspective on warfare and, as usual, several romantic aspects as well.
