We get to experience Manuel Vazquez Montalban’s most personal side as he joins the Portable Poetry collection with Prague, one of the most outstanding poems by an inexhaustible writer.
Manuel Vazquez Montalban was definitely a multifaceted man in his writing, his literary work includes police novels, with the unforgettable Pepe Carvalho, to essays about soccer, books on food and cooking, and newspaper articles. In addition, Vazquez Montalban wrote verses and felt very proud of this part of his writing, although it is probably the least known of his career. In Prague we find some of his most representative verses, short stanzas, in a traditional style, which are the result of his commitment to his era, and the reflection of his daily life.
Or perhaps Prague is not a city nor a symphony
neither history nor a life nor this book
perhaps it is simply a metaphor.
