Bloody Miami

Edward T. Topping IV, the very white, Anglo and Saxon member of a small dynasty the fourth generation of his family to have that name and to have studied at Yale, goes with Mack, his wife also a Yale alumnus to have dinner in a restaurant. And while he looks for a place to park his small and ecological car, a magnificent Ferrari, driven by a no less magnificent Latin woman covered in gold and sequins steals his place. And then she mocks him mercilessly. Maybe because, as Wolfe affirms, Miami is the only city in America, and maybe the world, where a population that has arrived from another culture, speaking another language, has become the dominant force within only one generation. And that is something reflected in the ballot box and then in the exercise of power. In fact, thats why Ed Topping has been sent to Miami to change the Miami Herald into a digital newspaper, without a paper edition, launching El Nuevo Herald for the large Latin community.
