In the end, it is inevitable that we discover that some currencies weigh much more than what we have been given in exchange. To lose out in trade and become accustomed to that loss is the lesson which Martina Iranco, the main character of this novel, has learnt since childhood. This brave novel speaks of our urgency in search of affection, how we have learnt to find it; it speaks of the skin as the place where upheaval itself is written, to realise in the end that playing hide and seek is a way to live with empty hands. One of the best displays of eroticism I have ever read (Jos Mara Pozuelo Yvancos, ABC). Beautifully perverse, trangressive and intelligent (LHebdo).
