Colette Urbajtel is an author’s book of fifty-two photographs: a testimony to the atypical conversion of a Parisian economics student to Mexico-based photographer. Fate or chance, this book reflects the story of a young Frenchwoman who arrived in Mexico on a scholarship to do her doctoral thesis in economics, only to encounter photography as part of her everyday existence. Moved by an irresistible impulse, Colette Urbajtel captures scenes in tranquil places, small events occasionally amusing or ironical, plants, animals, insects. Colette Urbajtel gathers images chosen by the artist herself, whose work has been exhibited on more than forty occasions around the world.
