New Territories

A visual and comprehensive survey of the various aspects of contemporary design and its interactions with craft and art in Latin America. New Territories explores collaborations between small manufacturing operations and artists, designers and craftspersons, demonstrating how the resulting work addresses issues of commodification, production, urbanisation, displacement and sustainability. It is organised around various cities in Latin America, and the dominant themes and issues being pursued by more than 100 artists, designers/design studios and artisans in regions including Brazil, Cuba, Panama, Colombia, Mexico, El Salvador, Puerto Rico, Venezuela and Chile.
