Tor the Bear is a lovely teddy bear who lives with his human on the Western coast of Norway. He likes to try new things, eat carrots and make songs.
In this book we meet Tor the Bear while he is outside picking dandelions. Suddenly something happens which brings an idea to his mind: He wants to make a carrot! Luckily his human says yes and soon he can embark upon his project.
He builds a carrot bed, sows the seeds and looks after the plants for many weeks.
The Carrot Song is made one day while he is taking care of his plants. This probably helps the plants grow, since he gets a lot more than one carrot in the end.
