In the Shadow of Guilt

After causing the death of her children, Maja flees to a hidden refuge in the rugged mountains of Stolsheimen, in Western Norway. Isolated and miles away from civilization, she must survive alone, with only her grief and pain as constant companions. Though she fights for survival, the torment of the horrors she caused is ever-present. Slowly, truths and lies unravel, until Maja is forced to confront the devastating realization that nothing was as it seemed.

The novel spans several decades, from the beginning of World War II to the present day. While Maja's solitary journey takes center stage, her grandfather, a former Bjorn West soldier, plays a crucial role in the unfolding drama. As the story progresses, illusions and secrets are stripped away, layer by layer, leading to a shocking conclusion.
