Lockwood (1841-1918) was an American lawyer and writer, known particularly for his Baron Trump children’s novels and his dystopian novel for adult readers, 1900: or, The Last President. He also wrote a number of non-fiction works, some under the pseudonym Irwin Longman. This title was published in 1890 and includes black and white illustrations throughout.
