This book proposes discussions on the socio-political dimension of teacher training, bringing into the debate the purpose of education. Based on the socio-historical perspective and supported by authors who follow this theoretical line, we start from the principle that every teacher's work has a socio-political dimension, because in any educational work there is implicitly or explicitly a relationship between education and society, which is expressed in the purpose of the work carried out. The question is to identify, through the "voice" of the teacher, how clear they are about the presence of this dimension in the training work they do and what aspects they demonstrate to characterize this presence. In this sense, we believe that the vital questions to which it is essential to reflect: "who do we want to train?", "what do we want to train for?", "what do we train for?" and "what do we train against?" should always guide any educational work. Our aim is to contribute to the visibility and understanding of the socio-political dimension, strengthening its presence as an integral aspect of teacher training.
