Coexistence strategies in the semi-arid region of Ceara

This book was born out of the final project for the Specialisation in Planning and Management of Public Policies at IFCE - Caninde and was able to investigate how the policies for living with drought in the hinterlands of Caninde dialogue with agrarian social movements, represented here by the Santana da Cal Settlement, 28 km from the municipality's headquarters. The method applied is dialectical materialism-history, which allows us to study the possible historical conflictual relationships between agrarian social organisations, the settlers and the government in the development, scope and guarantee of policies for living with drought in the Caninde hinterlands.
