Climate change scenarios provide information for assessing the climatic and environmental consequences of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The aim of this study is to project temperature and precipitation scenarios for the city of Beira due to its geographical location on the east side of the city, bathed by the Indian Ocean and suffering the consequences of various climatic events such as floods in the rainy season and an increase in the daily temperature range throughout the seasons. This study provides answers to support the possible development of alternative mitigation and adaptation strategies to these changes in temperature and precipitation patterns. The results of the projections indicate an increase in surface air temperatures for the A2 scenario, and a reduction in average precipitation for both GHG emission scenarios (A2 and B2).
