In recent years, efforts have been increased to reduce global warming and climate change. Thus, several legislations have been promulgated to reduce gaseous emissions from the usage of fossil fuel. At the same time, renewable and sustainable energy sources have gained more attention, because of their sustainability, lower global warming, ozone depletion potential, and unstable oil prices. Biodiesel can be produced from several biomass, it offers properties such as high cetane number, high oxygen content, and higher lubricity which makes it a viable alternative fuel, particularly in compression ignition engines. In this research, biodiesel from three feedstocks is used to study and compare its effect in compression ignition engines using numerical and experimental approaches. Also different engine operation strategies such as positive valve overlap, and exhaust gas recirculation across several biodiesel blends. This book will be useful to those in performance, combustion, and emission research and engine development.
